Alessandro is Full Professor of Entrepreneurship at Hult International Business School in Dubai and London, a regular contributor to the Harvard Business Review Arabia, and a business consultant. He also teaches at Ashridge Executive Education, ESCP Business School, and Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Alessandro is an expert educator, helping executives, managers, entrepreneurs and students understand the deep drivers of the 4th Industrial Revolution and respond strategically. He is in demand for his expertise in digital transformation and the opportunities of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, autonomous vehicles, big data, biotechnology, blockchain, edge computing, IoT, robotics, fintech…), as well as in strategic foresight (e.g., scenario planning, anti-fragile scenarios, future mindset…). His former clients include multinationals, SME’s, and family businesses across five continents in industries such as FMCG, capital goods, chemicals, engineering, financial services, logistics, oil & gas, retail, technology, telecom, travel and tourism, and utilities. Alessandro also works with International Organisations, governments. consulting companies, and start-up programs. He has previously held academic posts at Bocconi, American University of Beirut, UPO, Grenoble Graduate School of Business, Helsinki University and UCLA.

Alessandro also has a rich managerial background, having founded and directed a youth business incubator funded by the Italian Government (2009-12), served as the Executive President of the board of tourism in Monferrato (2010-12), and acted as General Manager for a family-owned medical clinic where he contributed to growing revenues from €650k to €1+ mil (2006-12). He served as financial manager for EU-funded projects worth €3.5+ mil. in Italy and Tunisia (2010-13). As board member of an elderly home, he has overseen the restructuring of €1.5+ mil. debt (2015-present).

He holds a PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam, a Master from Bocconi University and also studied at Stern School of Business at NYU, Said Business School at Oxford University, and Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He has published 25+ internationally peer-reviewed articles and books. His research has also appeared on Harvard Business Review and MIT Technology Review outlets, LSE Business Review, World Economic Forum Agenda and Forbes. His latest book “CLEVER. The Six Strategic Drivers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution” became a no.1 Amazon bestseller in Italy and the UK.

Alessandro has lived and worked in 15+ global capitals in Africa, America, Asia and Europe. He’s based in the UAE and in London.
