Jörg is well known for his commentary on Asian Private Banking issues, with a specialty in Ultra High Networth Individuals, their Family Offices and advisors from Eastern/Central Europe, Russia and Central Asia as well as Turkey and Greece. He is a keen observer of North- and South Korea as well as China and Japan and able to obtain unique insights into developments in these countries due to his Asian language abilities.
He was the Senior Vice President at the Private Bank of Southeast Asia’s largest bank and market leader, Singapore’s DBS; Director & Team Head for Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia at Credit Suisse Singapore; and Director for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia at Julius Bär. Jörg also held various positions in Germany’s Bayerische Landesbank (BayernLB) and Fortis Private Banking/Meespierson covering European and Asian clients as well as corporate and investment banking areas.
His expertise is in leading specialist teams tailoring Asia-specific corporate, private and investment banking solutions for clients, effectively bridging East and West. His knowledge also covers commercial and private banking, with broad experience in Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Prior to entering the banking industry, he worked in manufacturing, the car industry (Daewoo Motors), as well as trading, consulting and education.
Jörg originally majored in Asian Area Studies in Germany and completed a large part of my studies in over five years in Korea (North and South). He obtained his MBA at the European University in Barcelona, and Executive MBA from INSEAD (Singapore/France). A multi linguist, Jörg is fluent in German and English; proficient in Russian, Korean and Mandarin, speaks Japanese and Thai; and is currently ‘conquering’ Arabic and Hindi. For the past 18 years, he lived and worked in Singapore, which has established itself as one of the most important international private banking and wealth management hubs in the world.
