Joyce Jenkins
 

Joyce is a regular speaker and lecturer on leading across cultures, as well as a leadership development facilitator, coach and consultant, with specialist expertise in leveraging diversity and the intercultural management field. She is skilled at helping organisations and individuals to develop the growth mindsets, perspectives and people skills which maximise their success in working together as teams and across cultures.

She is Past President of the Society for Intercultural Education Training and Research for Europe (SIETAR Europa) and a founder and board member of SIETAR Southeast Asia. She also teaches Intercultural Coaching and Development at the University of Warwick, UK. She has provided training and coaching for senior leaders and teams in some of the world’s leading businesses and organisations as well as designing and delivering intercultural, diversity and inclusion, business and leadership development programmes and coaching for a range of clients around the world.

Joyce has over 30 years’ experience of international business, including ten years senior management experience as Executive-Director of a UK government initiative to promote links between industry and education and two years as Business Development and Marketing Director for a prestigious international arts body. She spent four years in Japan working for the communications department at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and for Toyota Motor Corporation designing and facilitating development programmes for their senior executives managing global teams.

Her coaching experience includes five years as a coach and adjunct faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) Asia-Pacific in Singapore. She also worked as a Research Associate at the international business school, INSEAD’s Singapore campus, and on communications and assessment projects for INSEAD in Asia and in France. She is a member of the Asia Pacific and European Alliance of Leadership Facilitators and Global Executive Coaches.

Joyce is accredited to administer and deliver feedback for a range of intercultural, business and 360⁰ assessment and coaching tools. Her academic qualifications include a MA in Chinese and Japanese Studies from the University of Edinburgh, and an MA in Intercultural Communication for Business and Professions from the University of London (Birkbeck).

She was awarded a Fellowship of the RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) in recognition ‘of outstanding contribution to social progress and development’ in the field of intercultural studies. Other awards include: Cartus Intercultural Academy’s highest recognition: the Service Excellence Award for 2019, the Japan Festival Award for Furthering Understanding of Japanese Culture in the UK and the BT Partnership Award for Innovation in Higher Education. Joyce has published and edited a number of books and magazines relating to business and leadership. Her publishing credits include the South China Morning Post, Wiley’s Leadership in Action journal and Lead Asia-Leadership News from the Asia-Pacific Region. Joyce has lived in Singapore for over 12 years and holds Singapore PR. She has also lived in in France, Thailand, China, Japan, Pakistan and the UK.
